Before You Open New Colored Contacts: A Practical Package Check
Before opening a new box, check that the product you received is the product you ordered and that the individual lens packaging is intact. A few clear photographs taken at this stage can also make a delivery question much easier to resolve. This check helps identify discrepancies; appearance alone cannot prove authenticity.

Keep the order and the package together
Open your order confirmation next to the unopened products. Compare the complete product name, color and replacement format. A monthly and a daily version may share a series name, while a toric version may add prescription fields that a spherical version does not have.

Photograph the details that answer a question
Take one photograph of the full package and another of the readable label. Include the exact product name, power, expiry date and lot or batch identifier when present. Photograph a visible seal problem before handling the package further. Keep any personal address label out of photos you intend to share publicly.
The point is to preserve the information that identifies the item. A beautiful front-of-box photograph can be less useful than a clear image of the small label on the back.

An undamaged outer carton is only one part of the inspection. If an individual blister or bottle appears open, leaking or otherwise compromised, do not wear the lens. Keep the packaging and contact the seller for instructions. If a lens-related problem involves eye symptoms, contact an eye-care professional rather than treating it as only a returns question.
Do not open all the remaining containers to compare their appearance. Keeping them sealed preserves their original state while a discrepancy is investigated. Use the store’s return and exchange policy for the actual process rather than assuming every opened item can be returned.
Do not use a logo as a substitute for identification
A familiar brand logo, a barcode or an attractive box is not a complete authenticity check. What matters in a product query is whether the exact item and its traceable details can be matched to the appropriate product information.

Separate expiry from your replacement plan
Read the expiry date on the sealed package. Once you open a lens for use, follow the exact product’s replacement and care instructions. A distant unopened-package expiry date is not permission to keep an opened lens in use indefinitely.
For your own records, note the opening date and the instructed replacement date separately. A simple phone reminder with the full product name can prevent confusion when you own more than one color or format.
A useful message if something does not match
Send the seller the order number, exact product, the specific mismatch and the relevant label photographs through its contact channel. “The right-eye power on this container differs from my order” is much easier to resolve than “the box looks different.”
Complete this check before your first wear. It is a practical way to identify the correct item and preserve the evidence needed to resolve a problem, without pretending that a home visual inspection certifies a medical device.
