Choose one change first: a softer outer edge, a different undertone or a more defined iris. Compare on-eye photographs with a natural eye color close to yours, then look at a full-face image. Start with brown contacts or circle lenses rather than changing color and apparent size together.
The outer border, center blend and density of the print can change the result as much as the shade name. Lighting and the wearer's natural eye color also matter. Compare photographs taken under similar conditions before treating two brown or gray styles as equivalent.
