Graphic Diameter vs Lens Diameter: Two Numbers, Two Decisions
A listing can show an 11.9 mm graphic and a 14.2 mm lens diameter without any contradiction. The graphic describes the printed design; the overall diameter describes the physical lens. Knowing which number answers which question helps you compare appearance without turning a styling choice into a guess about fit.

Read the two labels separately
Graphic diameter is commonly shown as G.DIA. Overall diameter may appear as DIA or simply Diameter. The first helps describe the scale of the colored design. The second is a physical specification of the lens itself. Base curve, usually shown as BC, is another field rather than a substitute for either diameter.
Imagine two labels on a design drawing: one around the outer edge of the product and another around the extent of its printed graphic. The labels can differ because the print does not have to reach the outer edge of the lens. That drawing is a useful explanation of the terms; it cannot establish how a lens fits a particular eye.

Keep the fitting decision with the exact model
The FDA’s contact-lens prescription guidance identifies the prescribed lens brand or material, base curve and, when appropriate, diameter among the information used to identify a lens. Matching one number from a listing does not establish an equivalent replacement.
If your question is “Will this fit me?” rather than “How large is the graphic?”, use your current contact-lens prescription and ask your eye-care professional about the exact model. A graphic-size collection is a browsing aid for appearance, not a fitting tool.
